Learn more about security standards
Australian Standard AS5039-2008 & AS5041-2003 – Security Testing
Amplimesh® products are subjected to a rigorous regime of impact tests, jemmy attacks and pull testing under this standard, to ensure that the inherent strength and structural integrity of the manufactured security product is maintained.
Australian Standard AS5039-2008 & AS5041-2003 – Knife Shear Test
SupaScreen® Stainless Steel meshes are tested for material hardness and tensile strength by subjecting the mesh to a standardised physical cutting attack, which draws a knife over the mesh a number of times.
Australian Standard AS1530.4-2005, Appendix B7 – Fire Attenuation Test
SupaScreen® Stainless Steel Security products have been tested in general accordance with this standard and when exposed to incident radiant heat SupaScreen® achieves a 41% reduction in the radiant heat flux between the inside and outside of the product.
Australian Standard AS1530.8.1-2007 – Bushfire Test
SupaScreen® Stainless Steel Security products have been tested under this standard and satisfied the requirements for Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) 40.
Australian Standard AS1170.2-2002, Clause 5.3.2 – Cyclonic Missile Impacts
In cyclonic regions windows and doors may need to be protected from flying debris, SupaScreen® Stainless Steel Security products have been tested to this standard, resisting the 4kg, 100mm x 50mm timber travelling at 15m/s.
Australian Standard AS1170.2-1989 – Cyclonic Missile Impacts
QLD Government, Design Guidelines for Aust. Public Cyclone Shelters, 2002. Department of Health, Western Australia Health Facility Guidelines for Engineering Services, 2006. SupaScreen® Stainless Steel Security products have also been tested to and satisfied the more onerous testing regime of this Standard. The same piece of timber is impacted into the screen at the faster speed of 20m/s followed by 8mm Steel balls at 30m/s followed by fatigue testing.
Using high tensile 316 marine grade stainless steel, woven into a fine mesh, Amplimesh® SupaScreen® is a modern innovation in security technology. SupaScreen® security doors are assembled using a unique patented pressure process, eliminating the need for screws, rivets, pins or snap-ins to retain the mesh panel. This system also ensures no dissimilar metal surfaces come into contact with each other, avoiding the possibility of corrosion.

Produced with only the highest quality materials and rigorously tested at our NATA approved facility Amplimesh® SupaScreen® security screens are designed to withstand even the most aggressive would-be intruder, and everything nature can throw at them to boot.
For over 50 years, Amplimesh® security screen doors and windows have been tested in some of Australia’s harshest climactic conditions including surpassing an 8000hrs acetic acid salt spray milestone, an equivalent of over 25 years of usage.
Amplimesh® security screens are assembled into high quality door and window frames using our Amplimesh® patented ‘pressure fit’ mesh retaining system technology. This system prevents the sliding door frame material from coming into contact with the stainless steel or aluminium security screens, thereby resisting galvanic corrosion and increasing the overall lifespan of your security screen product.
The Amplimesh® ‘pressure fit’ system uses no glue and has no visible fixings, giving your door/window a designer look and feel. No screws or clamps penetrate through the face of the security screen mesh, keeping the face of your security sliding door uncompromised. A dual purpose PVC ‘wrap around’ pressure fit co-extrusion allows for mesh retention and provides the ultimate protection from dissimilar metals coming into contact.
The finishes that are applied to Amplimesh® products are of high quality and are extremely durable and weather resistant. Like all fixtures around the home some maintenance is required to preserve the original appearance of the product.
Surfaces should be kept clean by prompt removal of all dust, dirt, grime and any foreign matter using clean water and a small amount of mild detergent. Do not under any circumstances use any abrasive type cleaning agent (Ajax or similar) or cleaning material (such as steel wool) as it will damage the anodised surface. Thoroughly wash off any residue of detergent with clean water.
Deposited grime absorbs moisture and holds it against the powder coated surface, damaging the coating. Surfaces should be kept clean by prompt removal of all dust, dirt, grime and any foreign matter using a soft sponge with clean water and a small amount of mild detergent. Thoroughly wash off any residue of detergent with clean water to avoid deterioration of the coating which will occur as a result of soap deposition. Do not under any circumstances use any abrasive type cleaning agent (Ajax or similar). If small scratches occur, they can be buffed out using a good quality car polish. Care must be taken to ensure the coated surface is not removed.
Frequency of cleaning is largely dependent on the location of the building. In most circumstances cleaning may be carried out every 3–4 months. Amplimesh® products installed close to more severe conditions, such as marine or industrial environments, should be cleaned every 2–4 weeks.
We’re so sure of the quality of our SupaScreen® security products that we’ve backed them by a comprehensive 16 year warranty. As with all commercial warranties, your Amplimesh® security screen product must be cared for with regular cleaning and maintenance. Giving your screen a little love and attention every few months will not only maintain your warrantly but will keep your screen looking great and performing at maximum efficiency.
