If you live in a bushfire-prone area, consider materials in screens that have been tested to withstand these high temperatures and feature an aperture under 2mm such as Amplimesh® SupaScreen®.
Ensure your home is properly protected in the event of a bushfire
When building in a bushfire zone, screening operable glazed windows is mandatory for compliance with the building code. Depending on the glazed door product used in your home, it may also be necessary to screen glazed doors.
Amplimesh® SupaScreen® security screens have been tested and satisfy the requirements for Bushfire Attack Level including up to and including BAL-FZ. Both IntrudaGuard® and PrivacyGuard® can be used in areas up to and including BAL-29.

** Bushfire Testing for SupaScreen® (Australian Standard AS3959-2018). SupaScreen® has been independently tested to meet the requirements for BAL-40 (Bushfire Attack Level). When used in bushfire prone areas rated BAL-FZ SupaScreen® must be used in conjunction with a window that has an FRL of at least -/30/- or in accordance with AS1530.8.2.
