(AS5039-2008 & AS5041-2003)
Amplimesh® SupaScreen® Stainless Steel and IntrudaGuard® Aluminium security products are subjected to a rigorous regime of impact tests, jemmy attacks and pull testing under this standard, to ensure that the inherent strength and structural integrity of the manufactured security product is maintained.
(Australian Standard AS5041)
The dynamic impact test was created to imitate an intruder attempting to kick, shoulder or otherwise force their way through the screen. The accepted and standardised test to replicate this is five 100 joule impacts (Energy).
(Australian Standard AS5039-2008 & AS5041-2003)
SupaScreen® Stainless Steel and IntrudaGuard® Aluminium security products are tested for material hardness and tensile strength by subjecting the mesh to a standardised physical cutting attack, which draws a knife over the mesh a number of times.
(Australian Standard AS1530.4-2005, Appendix B7)
SupaScreen® Stainless Steel security products have been tested in general accordance with this standard and when exposed to incident radiant heat SupaScreen® achieves a 59% reduction in the radiant heat flux between the inside and outside of the product.
(Australian Standard AS1530.8.1-2007)
SupaScreen® security screens have been tested under this standard and satisfied the requirements for Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) 40.
(Australian Standard AS1170.2-2011)
In cyclonic regions glazed windows and doors may need to be protected from flying debris. SupaScreen® Stainless Steel security products have been tested to resist a 4kg, 100mm x 50mm timber travelling at 34m/s fired from an air canon. The screen is then shot an additional five times with 8mm steel ball bearings, shot into the screen at the same speed.
(Tested under the Window Energy Rating Scheme)
Screens are a useful tool to give a home Natural Cross Flow Ventilation and keep air-con costs down but they can also reduce solar heat and UV light out during summer periods, and help reduce heat loss during winter. The Window Energy Rating Scheme also known as ‘WERS’ independently tests the reduction in solar heat and damaging UV light across a range of typical glazed scenarios found in windows at Australian residences.

* Insect or security mesh provides an effective barrier to insects larger than the stated aperture of the mesh. Insects smaller than the stated aperture may not be impeded.
** Bushfire Testing for SupaScreen® (Australian Standard AS3959-2018). SupaScreen® has been independently tested to meet the requirements for BAL-40 (Bushfire Attack Level). When used in bushfire prone areas rated BAL-FZ SupaScreen® must be used in conjunction with a window that has an FRL of at least -/30/- or in accordance with AS1530.8.2.
*** Dependant on mesh used with Diamond Grille.
Produced with only the highest quality materials and rigorously tested at our NATA approved facility Amplimesh® SupaScreen® security screens are designed to withstand even the most aggressive would-be intruder, and everything nature can throw at them to boot.
For over 50 years, Amplimesh® security screen doors and windows have been tested in some of Australia’s harshest climactic conditions including surpassing an 8000hrs acetic acid salt spray milestone, an equivalent of over 25 years of usage.
Amplimesh® security screens are assembled into high quality door and window frames using our Amplimesh® patented ‘pressure fit’ mesh retaining system technology. This system prevents the door frame material from coming into contact with the stainless steel or aluminium security screens, thereby resisting galvanic corrosion and increasing the overall lifespan of your security screen product.
The Amplimesh® ‘pressure fit’ system uses no glue and has no visible fixings, giving your door/window a designer look and feel. No screws or clamps penetrate through the face of the security screen mesh, keeping the face of your security screen uncompromised. A dual purpose PVC ‘wrap around’ pressure fit co-extrusion allows for mesh retention and provides the ultimate protection from dissimilar metals coming into contact.
The finishes that are applied to Amplimesh® products are of high quality and are extremely durable and weather resistant. Like all fixtures around the home some maintenance is required to preserve the original appearance of the product.

Surfaces should be kept clean by prompt removal of all dust, dirt, grime and any foreign matter using a soft sponge with clean water and a small amount of mild detergent. Thoroughly wash off any residue of detergent with clean water.
Do not under any circumstances use an abrasive cleaning agent (Ajax or similar) or cleaning material (such as steel wool).
If small scratches occur, they can be buffed out using a good quality car polish.
Frequency of cleaning is largely dependent on the location of the building. In most circumstances, cleaning may be carried out every 3-4 months.
Amplimesh® products installed close to more severe conditions, such as marine or industrial environments, should be cleaned every 2-4 weeks.
To maintain an ultra-clear view through your security screens, we recommend using our Amplimesh® Organic Security Door & Screen Cleaner, available through your local Amplimesh® Dealer.
We’re so sure of the quality of our SupaScreen® security screen doors that we’ve backed them by a comprehensive 16 year warranty.
As with all commercial warranties, your Amplimesh® security screen door or window screen must be cared for with regular cleaning and maintenance. Giving your screen a little love and attention every few months will not only maintain your warranty but will keep your screen looking great and performing at maximum efficiency.
